How can we counteract injustices in the use of AI? Ericka Johnson, professor at Linköping University, will tell us about how AI can be used to improve solutions and conditions for everyone, in different sectors and examples.

We know that AI is built on, and influenced by, the norms and values that already exist in society, which can have a negative impact on certain groups and individuals. There are many examples, even if the intention is to do well.

How can we counteract injustices in the use of AI? Ericka Johnson, professor at Linköping University, will tell us about how AI can be used to improve solutions and conditions for everyone, in different sectors and examples. 

During the evening, there will be a presentation followed by a workshop. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet and network with other women who are also in the tech industry!

This event is for those working in the tech industry, not necessarily with AI, who are curious about how AI technology can be used to improve solutions and conditions for individuals in different organizations and industries.

Students are also welcome to participate.

About the speaker

Ericka Johnson is a professor of gender and society at Linköping University. Her research focuses on how technologies articulate unspoken meanings, highlight cultural values, and reinforce subtle ideas. Along with Dr. Katherine Harrison, she leads a project on ethics, trust, and reliance on the relationship between humans and robots.
