As holder of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, Sweden hosted the fourth ministerial meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) in Luleå on 30–31 May 2023. The stakeholder panel event was held in conjunction with the TTC ministerial meeting and consisted of a roundtable discussion divided into two panels.

The event brought together European Commission Executive Vice Presidents Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner Thierry Breton as well as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai with key stakeholders representing industry, academia, and civil society discussed key priority areas of the EU-U.S. Trade and Technology Council and the way forward for its work.

Represented in the second panel was AI Sweden's Co-director Daniel Gillblad together with other stakeholders from Anthropic, Aleph Alpha, Eticas Research and Consulting, Center for Democracy and Technology, and Microsoft.

We will all benefit from sharing data, models, and benchmarks to foster continuous transatlantic innovation and development. A common focus on this kind of reasonable transparency and sharing of resources as a complement to joint regulation would be immensely beneficial” says Daniel Gillblad, Co-Director Scientific Vision at AI Sweden.
