From idea to innovation!

The application period for Impact Hack 2025 has now closed and the winners are The FVO Association.

Participants had the chance to turn their ideas into reality, compete for 100,000 SEK, and collaborate with other creative minds while developing their skills.

AI Sweden's mission is to accelerate AI adoption across Sweden to benefit society. The civil society sector holds significant potential for leveraging AI to address crucial challenges.

The purpose of this hackathon was to bring together non-profit organizations and AI experts to develop innovative AI solutions that address current societal challenges.

Through Impact Hack, AI Sweden aimed to inspire innovation and collaboration, identify concrete use cases for how AI can make a difference, and contribute to the work of creating positive change.

The hackathon was divided into two phases

PHASE ONE | IDEA COLLECTION AND WORKSHOPS

During this phase, participants had the opportunity to join inspiration and ideation workshops to refine their concepts. Whether their ideas were brand new or already in development, everyone was welcome to submit their proposals.

During our open sessions, participants also had the chance to receive feedback and brainstorm ideas with us.

PHASE TWO | FROM FINALIST TO WINNER

After the application period, an expert jury will select the 10 most promising ideas.

The finalists will then participate in an intensive hackathon, collaborating with AI experts to elevate their concepts to the next level.

Finally, the solutions will be presented to the jury, and the winning idea will be awarded 100,000 SEK.

What kind of ideas were we looking for?

We are seeking ideas of all sizes that have the potential to create real societal value. This could range from using large language models to tackle specific tasks to leveraging other AI capabilities, such as transcribing audio files, analyzing image data, or optimizing workflows.

Utilizes AI innovatively and purposefully

The solution should creatively apply AI to solve problems effectively.

Is feasible, scalable, and impactful

The idea should be implementable and have the potential to make a difference on a local, national, or global scale.

Criteria for finalists and winning ideas

An expert jury will evaluate all entries based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation potential: How novel is the idea? Does it offer a new solution to an existing societal problem?
  • Societal impact: How significant is the idea’s potential positive impact on society? How specifically does it address targeted societal challenges?
  • Feasibility: Is the idea realistically achievable with available resources?
  • AI relevance: To what extent does the idea utilize AI technology?
  • Scalability: Does the solution have the potential to expand, reach a broader audience, and/or benefit other organizations?
  • Ethical considerations: Has the team addressed ethical factors such as bias and discrimination in their solution?

Why participate?

This is a chance to work side-by-side with experts in AI and innovation, while having the opportunity to develop a solution that can create long-term societal benefits.
