AI for Almi
AI för Almi is an AI education program for Almi employees, aiming to build a fundamental understanding of AI and its application in supporting Swedish businesses and strengthening competitiveness.
Introduction
The future success of Swedish companies will increasingly depend on how well they use artificial intelligence and turn the technology into real business benefits. To address this, AI Sweden and Almi have collaborated to create an educational program for all Almi employees. The training provides a fundamental understanding of AI and insights into how companies can systematically implement it. The overarching goal is to equip Almi staff with the knowledge to effectively support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their AI adoption journey and strengthen their competitiveness.
Challenge
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for around 60% of turnover and nearly two-thirds of jobs in the Swedish private sector. To strengthen their competitiveness, these companies need better conditions to leverage AI. This project addresses the challenge of scaling AI knowledge nationally to empower these businesses. A key goal is to provide Almi's business advisors with the tools and methods to support companies in creating sustainable business value.
The material developed in the project will also contribute to a collection of resources and tools that will be made available to the entire Swedish innovation system.
Project purpose
The purpose of the program is to increase Almi employees' understanding of AI and strengthen their ability to use the technology. The training consists of an online course and two interactive online workshops in groups of up to 50 employees at a time. The first workshop provides an overview of generative AI and its application at both organizational and individual levels. The second workshop focuses on how AI impacts companies and how to best support them in creating business value.
Expected outcomes
This project aims to provide Almi employees with a deeper understanding of how businesses can responsibly and systematically implement AI. This knowledge will not only improve their coaching for the 15,000+ companies they meet annually but also support Almi's own organizational growth. Furthermore, the project's insights will contribute to a new set of open resources and tools for the entire Swedish innovation system.
