AI Accelerator for Scaleups
This collaborative program with Almi Invest was created to drive growth for Swedish scaleups through a tailored AI program, with the goal of strengthening long-term competitiveness in Swedish scaleups.
Introduction
AI represents a paradigm shift that is creating new opportunities across nearly all industries. To secure their long-term competitiveness, it is crucial for Swedish companies to utilize AI. While Sweden has a strong tradition of innovation, it has fallen behind in AI adoption. The AI Accelerator for Scaleups program, a collaboration between AI Sweden and Almi Invest, aimed to address this gap by helping a selected group of ten Almi Invest funded companies to use AI as a strategic engine for growth and innovation, turning untapped potential into tangible business results.
About
The AI Accelerator was a program for ten selected companies to boost their growth journey with AI. The program helped companies systematically take advantage of AI's capabilities and begin building their own value-creating AI projects. The accelerator offered training, customized modules, and practical support from some of Sweden's top AI experts.
The program had two main parts:
Competence Boost: This part provided a deep and broad understanding of AI, including an introductory training for those without a technical background. It also included an education on strategic AI implementation, covering topics like data management, legislation, and security.
- AI in Practice: In this part, companies created and begun to execute a plan for AI implementation. This included a physical workshop, AI Opportunity Mapping, where they identified AI opportunities based on the company's challenges. Participants also received access to focus modules on specific areas and individual coaching with expert consultants to drive their selected AI projects toward real business value.
Outcomes
The AI Accelerator was designed to provide participating companies with the knowledge and skills needed to understand AI's capabilities and applications in depth. Companies were expected to explore and identify how AI could reduce bottlenecks, lower costs, improve efficiency, and enable entirely new offerings.
The program aimed to help businesses develop and implement focused AI projects, which can lead to new competitive advantages and accelerated growth.
Participants also had networking opportunities with AI experts, AI Sweden partners and other scaleups in similar situations.
This project was funded by Almi and co-created in collaboration with AI Sweden.
