"Europe must become a better place for ideas and innovation. AI Sweden is an example of Sweden's ability to co-invest for joint development, combining trust, collaboration, and technological leadership. I am also proud that the Nordic region is leading the way, not least through the Nordic Council of Ministers' multi-million grant to the startup of a Nordic-Baltic AI center."

Stated EU Minister Jessica Rosencrantz, joined on her visit to Lindholmen Science Park and AI Sweden by staff and Axel Josefsson, 2nd Vice Chair of the Gothenburg City Municipal Board. The visit, which followed an initial boat ride across the Göta Älv river, focused on innovation and AI. Johan Löfvenholm, CEO of Lindholmen Science Park, spoke about the growing Lindholmen Innovation District, and Mats Nordlund, Director of AI Labs, highlighted AI Sweden's unique position:

When it comes to AI security, AI Sweden is already in a leading position in Europe. Our ambition is clear: Sweden should be the country that others turn to when they want to understand how to build robust and secure AI. Therefore, every krona invested in AI security is an investment in Sweden's competitiveness and in our ability to attract the sharpest talent.

During the tour of AI Sweden's technical infrastructure, the visitors visited our Edge Learning Lab where they had the opportunity to test a production robot. Both are examples of how artificial intelligence is already being used to support increased productivity and workplace safety in Swedish industry. The minister also learned more about the language model project Svea, which shows how AI can improve efficiency in the public sector, and about LeakPro, which addresses the critical need for secure AI.

The combination of advanced hardware and expertise from various sectors working together makes AI Sweden’s infrastructure a unique environment. Here, society, industry, and academia meet to tackle concrete problems and major strategic issues, as exemplified in the subsequent discussion on how future innovation can be financed and accelerated.

"We have gathered some of the world's sharpest minds in AI security here in Sweden," added Mats Nordlund.
