For the first time, representatives from the Riksdag parties are gathering for a podcast series entirely dedicated to artificial intelligence. According to Mikael Ljungblom, Director of Public Policy & International Relations, this is an important step forward in prioritizing these issues within the political arena.

This is the first time several party leaders and high-ranking politicians are spending an entire podcast episode solely discussing AI and politics, and it is not a day too soon. AI technology brings both massive opportunities and extensive societal changes for Sweden, which is why it is crucial for Sweden's leading politicians to give these issues the weight they deserve.

The conversations focus on politics in relation to artificial intelligence. How does the technology need to be regulated, and how can it become a force for realizing political visions? The episodes also explore how AI affects Swedish competitiveness and the labor market, and what this development means for Swedish and European sovereignty.

The podcast series is part of AI Sweden's expanded effort to highlight and drive critical AI issues during the election year, with the goal of contributing to greater understanding, direction, and momentum in Sweden's AI transformation. AI Sweden's policy work places a special focus on two central shifts: strengthening sovereignty and capability on the one hand, and accelerating the use of AI in priority sectors like healthcare, education, and defense innovation on the other.

"Sweden is undergoing a paradigm shift where civil prosperity, technological development, and national security are interwoven, creating new dependencies and power dynamics. Sweden needs to develop the strategic and operational capabilities required to act," says Mikael Ljungblom.
