How can AI accelerate economical growth in Sweden?

Wednesday, July 4, 2018

AI will influence many aspects of the society and its future services to citizens. AI will also be a determining factor for Swedish competitiveness. At Almedalen, the business publication, Dagens Industri (DI), and CGI gathered a panel of experts and leaders to discuss what it takes to accelerate AI-related research and innovation.

Lindholmen Science Park is present in Almedalen and follows the current discussions.

The panel consisted of: Magdalena Gerger, CEO Systembolaget; Pär Fors, CGI; Anders Ekholm, Vice President, The institute for future studies; Jane Walerud, business angel with focus on IT/AI; Jonas Järnfeldt, CEO, The Train Brain; Olof Hernell, EQT.
Moderator: Mimi Billing, Di Digital.

Lindholmen AI:s key take aways from the discussions:

  • • Data is absolutely essential: To drive research and innovation we need access to data, and regulations must support this
  • Collaboration is important. In many cases, not least for solutions in the public-sector, access to data and applications will require collaboration

Lindholmen AI fully embraces both these conclusions. We will gather competence and services to make data available, processed and annotated. The over-all model of our initiative is designed to enable and facilitate collaboration. Collaboration both between industry and academia, industry and public sector, large and small companies, etc, as well as collaboration between different public organisations.
