The FVO Association wins award for best AI solution at Impact Hack 2025

Friday, March 14, 2025

The FVO Association was awarded for its AI tool to coordinate and match financial support via FVO to households in need. The organization, which annually receives 13,000 applications, sees that the AI tool can create great value for applicants, investigators, and foundations alike.

'We are very happy for this opportunity to use AI to make it easier for those who are financially vulnerable to receive a little extra support,' says Magnus Bodin, Development Strategist at the FVO Association.

Ten selected organizations participated in this year's Impact Hack 2025 and competed with their best society-improving ideas. After an intense day at Google's office in Stockholm, where the teams worked to develop their AI solutions and then pitch them to a jury consisting of representatives from the business community and civil society, the FVO Association was ultimately named the winner.

The innovative AI tool will guide applicants, check attachments, assess financial need, and match applicants with suitable foundations. The goal is to reduce administrative time, prevent errors and fraud, and create legally sound decision support. The FVO Association annually receives 13,000 applications and distributes approximately 45 million SEK. The tool has the potential to create great value for households in need.

The FVO Association is awarded a prize sum of 100,000 SEK to continue developing its idea.

"We at the FVO Association are very happy for this opportunity to use AI to make it easier for those who are financially vulnerable to receive a little extra support. We would also like to express a big thank you to AI Sweden and our hacker team Propagators for a fantastic collaboration," says Magnus Bodin, Development Strategist at the FVO Association.

The jury assessed the competing teams' ideas based on the uniqueness and degree of innovation in the technical solution, as well as the value the solution can have for other organizations and society at large.

"The value of AI technology is not in the future; it is here and now. And I think the FVO Association shows that very clearly. The ambition with Impact Hack is to highlight concrete applications where AI can already create real value today by contributing to solving some of our biggest societal challenges. Hopefully, this can inspire more people to think about the value AI can have for them," says Carl Norling Markai, Impact Initiative Developer at AI Sweden.
