The European AI startup landscape is now live!

Startups are key in creating innovation and growth. The aim of the startup landscape is to strengthen collaboration around innovation and AI all over Europe. Moreover, it provides investors and collaborators with guidance in their search for cutting-edge AI solutions and expertise.

AI Sweden has curated the map together with RISE and Ignite Sweden. The initiative has been made possible by funding from Vinnova, and appliedAI by UnternehmerTUM and Hub France IA.

Each startup included in the landscape uses AI or builds solutions that enable the use of AI, was either founded or pivoted their core business model with a focus on AI less than 10 years ago, and is headquartered or originated in Europe. The evaluation was based on criteria such as AI technology, scalability, access to and use of data, and the AI knowledge among staff. Interestingly, many startups do not see their solutions as sector-specific. This underlines the possibilities for AI to be used as part of the solution to a wide range of societal challenges.

As a next step, AI initiatives in other countries will be asked to participate in order to grow the European landscape.
