AI Sweden honored for leadership – Named "Societal Actor of the Year"

Martin Svensson, Managing Director of AI Sweden, has been awarded the "Societal Actor of the Year" (Årets Samhällsaktör) award in the Leadership category for his inclusive and visionary work in accelerating the use of artificial intelligence in Sweden. The award highlights the transformative work the center conducts to increase societal benefit and strengthen competitiveness.

I am honored by this award and view it as recognition of AI Sweden’s entire scope of work. To me, leadership is about daring to lead the way, building trust, sharing knowledge, and building something that makes a difference for more than just one's own organization.

The award, presented by Dagens industri and Gullers Grupp, recognizes individuals and organizations who take responsibility and prioritize the public good. In the Leadership category, the jury emphasizes Martin Svensson’s ability to drive development and strengthen Swedish competitiveness through open and generous leadership.

The jury's citation reads: "For working, with inclusive, visionary, and generous leadership, to accelerate the use of AI at the individual, organizational, and societal levels. When politicians have hesitated, Martin Svensson has taken responsibility, driven development, and strengthened Swedish competitiveness. Under his leadership, AI Sweden has become a system-influencing force for accessibility, public education, and future infrastructure."
