AI Act in focus: AI Sweden and Almi launch joint knowledge-sharing initiative

Tuesday, April 29, 2025

The EU's new AI Act, which came into effect in August 2024, represents a significant step in the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI). To help Swedish organizations understand and prepare for this new regulatory framework, AI Sweden, in collaboration with Almi and with expert support from PwC Sweden, Scania, and the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), is launching a new resource: a series of six videos designed to increase knowledge and facilitate preparation. This resource aims to disseminate crucial information and practical insights regarding the AI Act.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated across various industries, it is vital that organizations of all sizes understand the legal frameworks governing its use. AI Sweden's partner network, comprising over 160 members, has identified a significant need among Swedish organizations to grasp the technical, organizational, and legal implications of the EU's AI Regulation.

To address this need, AI Sweden and Almi, with the support of experts from PwC Sweden, Scania, and the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), have created a series of six freely accessible recorded video sessions. These resources offer a clear and easily digestible overview of the key aspects of the AI Regulation.

This collaboration is a successful example of how actors within AI Sweden's partner ecosystem can come together to share knowledge that benefits many. By collaborating and learning from each other, we can effectively enhance understanding of the AI Regulation throughout Sweden.

These knowledge-sharing sessions will cover crucial areas such as an introduction to AI law, an overview of the AI Regulation, the different defined actor roles (provider, deployer, importer, distributor), risk classification of AI systems, and the associated responsibilities and requirements for these risk classes. A final session will focus on the practical application of the AI Regulation and how to stay informed.

The content of these resources is ensured through the expert knowledge of representatives from AI Sweden (including Tilde Skånvik from Lindholmen Science Park), Charlotte Arnell (PwC Sweden), and Patrik Kägu (Almi), as well as external experts from the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) and Scania.
