Eye for AI - A Graduate Program for Future Leaders in AI

Do you have an Eye for AI? And want to be a part of an exclusive Graduate Program for Future Leaders in AI ? Then this is for you!

The national center for applied AI, AI SwedenAstraZenecaSahlgrenska University Hospital and Zenseact have created a unique 18-months graduate program for European top talents within AI.

For 18 months, six exceptional graduates will be given the opportunity to work on concrete applied data and AI problems in three different application areas, get to know three exceptional organizations, and tap into the AI Sweden's global network, resources and expertise.

The participants will work in pairs and spend 6 months at each organization. Every week, the group will convene for one day at AI Sweden. The Eye for AI program will be a tremendous career boost and lead to highly attractive opportunities when completing the program. As a graduate joining the program you will get competitive compensation, housing solutions and active integration in the Swedish community.

We are especially looking for top talent with a M.Sc. in Data Science/Computer Science/Machine Learning or similar, with 0-3 years of relevant working experience and with a European citizenship/residency that enables you to move and work in Sweden without a VISA (but you're not currently a Swedish resident).

The first Pilot of the Eye for AI - A Graduate Program for Future Leaders in AI will start in October 2021. 


The Recruitment Process

  1. Go to the application page here to apply and fill out the form, write a short motivation and answer a few questions
  2. If you make it to the next step, you will be invited to a case interview that will be held over video
  3. The final 10 candidates will be flown to Gothenburg for in person interviews at each company

A total of 6 candidates will be chosen for the graduate program.

The Timeline

  1. Applications closes on the 2nd of August 2021 at 23.59 CEST
  2. The case interviews will be held during the 2nd until the 13th of August 2021
  3. The interviews with the partner companies will be held in Gothenburg 16th-27th of August 2021
  4. The Jury Committee will make a decision during the 30th-3rd of September 2021
  5. The program starts on the 4th of October 2021
  6. The program ends in March 2023

As an intern you will explore, develop and utilize analytics, data science and artificial intelligence skills with biomedical applications. You will collaborate with data scientists in developing and implementing solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for biological insights.

Examples range across data and AI including - planning and curation to make data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), supporting data provisioning to learn more about data governance and application in data science, predictive modelling with in vitro and in vivo imaging data sets, working with graph theory to represent and interrogate huge biological network data, developing novel visual analytics tools for clinical data interpretation.

Sahlgrenska University Hospital

Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU) with 17 000 employees is one of Europe’s largest hospitals and provides emergency and basic care for the Göteborg region, and its 700 000 inhabitants, and highly specialized care for West Sweden (1.7 million inhabitants) as well as being the country´s centre for certain specialised care. SU is highly active in research and innovation through e.g. collaboration with the Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and commercial partners.

AI is a key area with great potential for health care. SU aims to focus on AI by e.g. forming a Competence Centre for AI.

At SU you will have the opportunity to apply your AI knowledge and skills in solving challenges within the healthcare sector. Examples of on-going projects include applying AI in radiological imaging, genomics data, creating AI-based decision support for patient outcomes based on EHR-data and real-time monitoring, optimising resource utilization and scheduling of personnel. You will collaborate with clinicians and clinical researchers as well as AI-staff and external collaborators.

As an intern, you will be part of the New Technology team which has interactions with all the development teams in the company and with corresponding teams at Volvo cars. At New Technology, we are pursuing a number of key AI technologies and you will be able to engage in areas described below
