The NLP Seminar Series is organized by AI Sweden and RISE NLP Group, and moderated by Magnus Sahlgren, Head of Research, Natural Language Understanding at AI Sweden and Joakim Nivre, Head of Natural Language Processing at RISE.

Speaker March 30: Joey Öhman (AI Sweden/KBLab), Fredrik Carlsson (RISE) and Severine Verlinden (AI Sweden): Deep Dive Into Controllable Text Generation

Abstract: The introduction of immensely large language models has rejuvenated the interest in open-ended text generation. However, controlling the generation of these transformers is at large an unsolved problem, as is the evaluation of such generated text. This talk covers the field of controllable text generation, with a focus on our recently accepted ACL paper which proposes both a powerful method for steering the generative process over time and a new evaluation task for controllable text generation.
