NLP Seminar

-
Hybrid (Flemminggatan 41)

The NLP Seminar Series at AI Sweden is a bi-weekly forum for people who work with or are interested in Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Arranged by:
AI Sweden and RISE NLP Group

Speaker: Jonas Andrulis (Aleph Alpha): Human world models across languages and modalities. The role of language and the alignment of stochastic parrots

Abstract: With MAGMA we have recently shown how to use pre-trained image encoders and language models to achieve powerful multimodal world models with very limited training resources. These models retain many of the features of their components (like zero-shot capabilities or OCR) and bring them into a multimodal space. In this presentation we will be looking at technical model capabilities and discuss pressing questions like alignment and fairness, and how to understand and use these models towards a new way for humans and machines to interact.
