Mandela Talks is an annual event arranged by Peace Parks Foundation Sweden. This year's discussion will focus on AI and wildlife crime.

Illegal wildlife trade is a highly profitable criminal enterprise, often linked to narcotics, arms trafficking, and other organized crime. These activities pose threats to wildlife, ecosystems, and regional stability, with global implications. Weak institutions, corruption, and poverty provide fertile ground for these criminal networks to thrive, jeopardizing peace, security, and environmental sustainability.

Illegal wildlife trade and poaching is not a regional problem, it's a global challenge with geopolitical implications that require collective action. By harnessing international expertise and advanced AI technologies, we can make a significant impact. A collective effort that requires a strong ecosystem including industry, the public sector, academia, and civil society.
