Truth or Dare: A Game About AI for Brave Leaders

Program

Tuesday June 24

10:00-10:45

Organizer: AI Sweden

What is required of top management to extract sustainable and real value from using AI? And how does one lead in exponential change?

The value of using artificial intelligence is enormous - but it doesn't come by itself. We know that brave, visionary leaders in both the business world and public organizations need to act to adapt to a new reality, handle old issues in entirely new ways, and invest strategically. But what does this mean in practice? What responsibility does management actually have, and what issues can just as easily be delegated? Welcome to a conversation with leaders who are driving real change.

Swedish companies are getting less benefit from AI compared to competitors in other countries. What is required of decision-makers and innovation promoters for more companies to succeed? How do we increase AI usage and ensure competitiveness? And how do we make Sweden a leading environment for AI-driven growth companies?

Many Swedish companies struggle to transform AI's potential into concrete business benefits. Especially in small and medium-sized companies, there is often a lack of resources, competence, and access to the right support to deploy AI solutions – despite a high awareness that AI plays a crucial role in growth and competitiveness. In this part of the program, we are gathering decision-makers, key individuals, and representatives from the innovation support system to explore some key questions for Sweden's growth: - How is business benefit created with AI and what help do entrepreneurs receive today? - What is required of decision-makers and innovation promoters for more Swedish companies to succeed in their AI journey? - How do we strengthen the innovation support system's ability to support companies in AI? - How can Sweden become a leading environment for AI startups and AI-driven growth companies? Can the latest

Organizer: Red Hat

The recent years' turbulence surrounding AI development and use - exemplified by the EU's AI Act, dependence on a few large suppliers, and criticism of data usage in language models, has raised questions. How is the increased demand for transparency balanced with the availability of valuable AI services?

Democratization of AI can mean many things, but equal access to AI services that can simplify our everyday lives, as well as resources to develop what does not yet exist in the market, is part of what lies in the expression.

The major geopolitical challenges we have seen in the past year, with the ongoing war in Europe, a USA that is changing its view of the world, and an increased concern about how the economy will be affected both at the macro and regional level, are causing many companies and organizations to see a need to review their AI strategies.

In this session, we at Red Hat, together with our guests, will attempt to describe how we, with relatively simple means, can provide more flexibility for ourselves and our organizations - without having to compromise on the services that colleagues and public demand. We will demonstrate that open source and smarter use of shared investments in resources can help us create future-proof AI solutions to address the challenges we face.

AI is changing everything, but who is controlling the development? Sweden has the chance to take the lead in Europe, but time is short. Welcome to a sharp discussion on how we transform potential into real benefits, for innovation, competitiveness, and a stronger society.

AI is reshaping the world's economies and right now there's a chance to take a leading role in Europe. Sweden has strong cards to play: high-quality data, a technology-driven culture, and a positive view of AI. At the same time, development is being slowed down by a shortage of skills, fragmented initiatives, and uneven public sector digitization. How do we maintain momentum and relevance in a rapidly growing global AI economy? What is required for Sweden's key sectors, both public and private, to become engines in the AI transformation and contribute to innovation, competitiveness, and increased societal benefits in Europe? We will begin with a SWOT analysis of Sweden's starting point, draw inspiration from international role models, and discuss which initiatives, investments, and collaborations truly make a difference. The panel discussion brings together experts, decision-makers, AI players, and you who want to see Sweden at the forefront. Welcome to one of the most crucial discussions of the AI transformation

What do municipalities' AI initiatives in schools look like? AI is already widely used in schools – but without national guidance and strategy. How do we create coordination that strengthens equality, equips the profession, and makes AI a tool for enhanced learning?

AI is already a part of Swedish schools – from AI-supported translation services to generative tools in teaching and administration. But the development is happening without common guidelines or a national strategy, which risks reinforcing differences between schools and municipalities. AI Sweden's survey shows that schools are one of the most active areas in municipalities' AI work. It provides a unique overview of ongoing initiatives, but also of challenges and uncertainty regarding responsibility, support, and guidance. What is required for AI to contribute to a stronger and more equitable school system? Welcome to a conversation about the need for national coordination and long-term direction – to create security, professional discretion, and a school where AI strengthens teaching, participation, and future preparedness.
