We are in a historically transformative period that places new demands on collaboration and proactive action. It is extremely positive that we are able to bring together labour-market partners to build a shared understanding of how AI is affecting the Swedish labour market. Through this council, we are creating a central platform for dialogue and joint learning, with the goal of helping strengthen Sweden’s capacity for transition and its long-term skills supply.

Format
The Council meets four times a year and brings together labour-market stakeholders along with AI experts, researchers, and other relevant actors from the public sector and industry. These round-table discussions will result in insight reports on the themes discussed.
Once a year, a more comprehensive report is published at an open event, providing an overall picture of how AI technologies are affecting the labour market, the skills required, and the measures needed to ensure a secure transition that strengthens Sweden’s competitiveness and growth.
Council Objectives
The Labour Market AI Council works to strengthen Sweden’s ability to adapt to technological developments and to ensure a sustainable supply of skills.
The Council aims to foster broad dialogue and create the conditions for coordinated action through knowledge exchange, analysis, and policy recommendations.
This is achieved by building shared knowledge, formulating insights, and developing concrete recommendations directed at labour-market stakeholders, political decision-makers, and other strategic actors.
Thanks to its broad representation, coordinated ways of working, and proactive approach, the Council aims to create the conditions for Sweden to harness the opportunities of AI, reduce risks such as skills gaps, and strengthen competitiveness in a rapidly changing labour market.
Insight reports
The Council meets quarterly, and each meeting generates an insight report, which can be found here.
