From idea to impact: Revisit AI Labs’ annual event
Two hundred participants from AI Sweden's partners met at Lindholmen in Gothenburg when AI Labs hosted its annual event. The overarching theme was "from idea to impact." The presentations from the stage program are available for those who missed the day.
When it comes to AI projects, you want to make sure that they scale. You want to test close by where you are, where you have people and equipment. Then you want to distribute that maybe globally to all the other environments that you have. That is one of the biggest winning themes of being here at the Edge Learning Lab.

Stories from the AI Labs
In our cross-sector collaborative environment, AI Labs' work can uncover new and unexpected synergies. Projects are often included in one of our consortiums, which enables them to draw on progress made in adjacent domains. For example, you may find development done for the healthcare domain applicable to the space domain. Findings can then be shared and spread throughout the AI Sweden ecosystem through the work of AI Sweden’s Adoption and Ecosystem teams.

Our focus areas
Edge Learning
Edge learning is an approach in AI that shifts data processing closer to the source—enabling faster, more efficient, and privacy-conscious solutions. Today, edge learning is a core component of AI and a foundational element in several of AI Sweden's ongoing projects.
Natural Language Understanding
Natural Language Understanding (NLU) will be key for making the most of AI and enables tasks as wide-ranging as using voice assistants at home to a reliable automatization of certain social services. To accelerate innovation, development of applications, and implementation in this area, NLU therefore constitutes one of AI Sweden’s strategic initiatives.
Secure AI
As part of AI Sweden’s Edge Learning Consortium and in collaboration with Dakota State University, our focus on AI security aims to provide developers and users of Edge Learning Infrastructure the understanding to develop robust and secure AI solutions.
AI in space
Edge learning has the potential to revolutionize the development of AI for space applications and AI Sweden’s focus is to explore technologies that can be used for high-impact use cases.
