Public Innovation Summer Program 2025

AI Sweden's Public Innovation Summer Program 2025 aims to promote innovation in artificial intelligence by involving talent in projects that address real challenges in the public sector and civil society. The projects are divided between initiatives at AI Sweden, Föreningen FVO, and WWF.

Please note: The application period for candidates is closed and the program starts in June and ends in August 2025.

Program Focus Areas

In this program, participants will work in teams of 2–3 on projects within the following key areas:

  • A shared digital assistant for the public sector (SVEA): Improving the onboarding process for new users. This project focuses on exploring and improving the introduction of the digital assistant within the public sector. The goal is to create content that facilitates, makes the process more engaging, and increases security for new users.
  • Use of generative AI in public operations: Exploring the potential and developing practical applications of generative AI technology within the public sector.
  • Scalability of AI solutions for increased societal impact: Projects that investigate and identify strategies for implementing and spreading successful AI solutions on a larger scale within the public sector.
  • AI for social good: Development of AI solutions that address specific societal challenges and create value for non-profit organizations and the public.

Purpose and Goals

The initiative's primary purpose is to promote concrete innovation in the AI field that can contribute to a more efficient and value-creating public sector, as well as generate solutions that benefit society at large. By involving talented individuals in these projects, a dynamic environment for knowledge exchange and development of new AI applications is created.

By connecting projects from diverse sectors with engaged talent, the program drives innovation and boosts AI application competence. Past programs show that student teams often deliver strong results and valuable insights for all involved.
