AI Transformation

For AI to be useful in an organization, technology is not enough. If it is to be used in the right way in your organization, close collaboration between different competencies in the business is required. To create value with the AI toolbox organisations needs to transform the way they are working.

This organizational change is what we call AI Transformation. 

Artificial intelligence has no end in itself. What technology offers is a new toolbox that enables an organization to work in new ways. With the help of various methods and solutions that fall within the concept of artificial intelligence, it is possible to create new insights by analyzing data or automating and quality-assured processes that were previously beyond the ability of technology.

The use of AI is of course about technology, but also about other things. There is a need for an understanding of what results and effects they can contribute and there is a need for an understanding of what legislation regarding, among other things, data looks like. And so often completely new ways of working are needed, where things such as internal structures, skills and culture must change.

For AI to be useful in an organization, technology is not enough. If it is to be used in the right way in your organization, close collaboration between different competencies in the business is required. Developers need to understand the technology in depth. The product owners are responsible for developing the product or service. Business developers know the needs of customers. Lawyers know laws and regulations. When these roles meet and discuss the whole, AI will often prove to be a tool for achieving the goals set. 

To find new ways of working and build an understanding of the possibilities and challenges with AI that is required, the organization as a whole needs to be developed and changed. It is a work that AI Sweden, and many others, call AI transformation. Exactly how that organizational change is implemented and what it results in will vary from organization to organization. Factors that affect include industry affiliation, current organizational structure, technical competence and access to data.

But regardless of the current situation, there is a systematic approach that all organizations can use as a model. And do not be surprised if it turns out that the really big challenge along the way is leadership and organizational culture rather than technology!
